Key achievements of the Roadmap
The Innovation for a Future Economy 2022-2032 Roadmap reflects the innovation efforts and investments by Queensland’s innovation ecosystem.
The Roadmap was released in July 2022 and a lot has already been achieved across the priorities.
- Announced an $8 million Ignite Ideas super round including $2.5 million for the inaugural Ignite Spark program, $1.5 million for the expansion of Ignite+ and $4 million for round 11 of the Ignite Ideas Fund.
- Launched the new $10 million Industry Research Projects program to encourage research and business collaboration – translating research outcomes into commercialisation opportunities.
- Advance Queensland partnered with The Tech Council of Australia’s (TCA) inaugural National Tech Summit to explore and discuss the big opportunities and challenges in tech for Queensland.
- Released the Queensland AgTech Roadmap 2023–2028 setting the vision and path to accelerate AgTech innovation and adoption in Queensland.
- Announced a new $1 million Rural Fire Service (RFS) Innovation Fund to support the future operations and capability of the RFS.
- The Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, along with Advance Queensland and Trade and Investment Queensland, partnered with Climate Salad to foster the growth of the climate tech industry and community in Queensland.
- A Sportstech Trade and Investment Roundtable was held in Brisbane to promote trade opportunities and investment interest in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- Delivered an Indigenous Innovation Ventures event creating new opportunities for Queensland-based First Nations businesses.
- Announced 11 successful recipients of round 1 of the Accelerating Female Founders Program sharing in almost $1 million in Advance Queensland funding.
- Relaunched the Regional Futures Collaborative Projects program to support collaborations across regional Queensland to solve significant innovation challenges.
