Advance Queensland has a clear focus on supporting Queensland innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers to solve tomorrow’s problems.

Visionary Queenslanders are addressing challenges with new and innovative ways of thinking. Queensland needs a thriving knowledge economy for the future and we’re here to give a helping hand to Queenslanders who have great new ideas.

What we do

Advance Queensland helps innovators turn their fresh concepts into reality. We help foster breakthroughs by funding innovation, supporting research and promoting entrepreneurial excellence.

We support Queensland innovation in a range of productive ways:

  • funding and promoting programs and grants
  • organising and promoting events
  • sharing resources and information
  • supporting networks and connection
  • sharing updates on innovation news in Queensland.

Our impact

Since Advance Queensland launched in 2015, we have supported more than 8,190 recipients. Their projects have driven the creation of 33,000 jobs and leveraged $1 billion in funds from external partners and investors.

From July 2022, when we launched our first 10-year Roadmap, creating a whole-of-government plan, the impact so far has been significant:

    of recipients are based in regional Queensland

    identify as female and 8% identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

  • 6,850+ jobs

    supported by projects

  • 29%

    of these jobs have been reported by regional recipients, 28% by female recipients and 10% by First Nations recipients.
