Who is it for?

Queensland small to medium businesses that are creating new and innovative products or services.

What are the grant/program objectives?

Support the further improvement of new products or services to become ready for market.

What does it involve?

Funding businesses for up to 12 months to support the development of their product or service.

What are the grant/program goals?

  • Create a pipeline of new and innovative products and services for market entry
  • strengthen key industries in Queensland
  • diversify the Queensland economy
  • engage and benefit regional Queensland
  • create new jobs — now and into the future.

What will recipients get?

The program is providing funding of $50,000 to $75,000 (excluding GST).

Funding is available for projects for up to 12 months, with a matched funding contribution from your organisation (required as follows):

  • Tier 1: for applicants based in South East Queensland* — a 20% matched funding contribution.
  • Tier 2: for Indigenous businesses* and/or applicants based in a Queensland region* — a 10% matched funding contribution.

If you’re a successful applicant, you’ll be eligible for additional business development support through the Ignite+ Program.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for funding, at the time of application and for the duration of the funded project, you must:

  • be a business based in Queensland and registered for the GST
  • have no more than 50 employees

At the time of application, you:

  • must have an existing prototype for a product or service that is scalable to meet market demand
  • must demonstrate that the product or service is ready to be validated and not currently in the market
  • cannot have received funding for your project from any level of government.
