Program overview

Who is it for?

Small to medium sized Queensland organisations and university graduates.

What are the grant/program objectives?

To assist Queensland businesses to progress innovative products and service towards commercialisation by engaging the skills and expertise of a Queensland based Honours, Masters or PhD level graduate.

What does it involve?

Funding employment for six to twelve months to develop an innovative product, service or process within a business-led project.

What are the grant/program goals?

  • Translate innovative ideas into products, services or processes that solve real world problems.
  • Increase employment opportunities in small to medium businesses for graduates.
  • Support the creation of knowledge-based jobs.
  • Increase opportunities for commercialisation as part of growing the innovation economy.
  • Retain talent and skills in Queensland.

What will recipients get?

Funding of up to $90,000 for you to employ a Queensland-based Honours, Masters or PhD university graduate for six to twelve months.

There are two tiers of funding for projects:

  • Tier 1 — for applicants in South-East Queensland, a minimum of 20 per cent matched funding is required.
  • Tier 2 — for applicants in regional Queensland or Indigenous businesses, a minimum of 10 per cent matched funding is required.
