Innovative solutions

Through Advance Queensland’s Private Sector Pathways program, innovative Queensland businesses were invited to submit their solutions to equip the Tourism Department’s Young Tourism Leaders with technology, products or equipment to enhance student engagement during career expos and in classrooms at schools.

Work Window, the winner of the innovation challenge, is an expert in developing Virtual Reality (VR) experiences showcasing diverse careers, which helps students make more informed career decisions.

Work Window developed five new VR experiences covering careers in the tourism and hospitality industries. The experience is immersive, interactive and personalised, giving students opportunities to explore a wide range of jobs and ask questions.

Supporting Young Tourism leaders

The Private Sector Pathways program aims to increase partnerships between small-to-medium sized innovation enterprises and corporate businesses, large organisations and key industries, developing solutions to key industrial challenges.

Funded by Advance Queensland and the Department of Tourism and Sport, the Private Sector Pathways program has provided a Queensland scaleup the opportunity to support an industry challenge.

Work Window received nearly $100,000 (excluding GST) in funding through the program.

The VR experiences will be used by our Young Tourism Leaders to engage with students at career expos and in classrooms about jobs in the tourism industry.
