The Advance Queensland Accelerating Female Founders Program

Eleven successful recipients, including two universities, were part of Round One of the Advance Queensland Accelerating Female Founders Program.

The 11 organisations shared in total funding of close to $1 million to provide a host of practical business development and technical skills programs for almost 500 female founders and leaders of innovation-driven enterprises.

The agencies are delivering a range of business development programs, including incubator and pre-accelerator — both for early-stage start-up founders building their product or service — and accelerators for more mature start-ups and scaleups.

Five of the 11 agencies are based regionally, including Rockhampton, Cairns, Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast.

The Accelerating Female Founders Program is part of Advance Queensland’s Backing Female Founders Program, which first launched in 2019.

Advance Queensland’s programs have supported 1500 women to begin and grow their businesses and business skills.

Recipients of Round One

The recipients of Round One include Impact Boom and its social enterprise accelerator program, the Sunshine Coast’s Food and Agribusiness Network with its food and beverage accelerator program, and the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Hub (ARM Hub) at Northgate in Brisbane, where the program was launched.
