Pitch — use VR and XR to improve training and safety
Advance Queensland and Frucor Suntory, the company behind some of Australia and New Zealand’s most popular beverage brands, teamed up for a pitch event at the XR Hub event at The Precinct, Fortitude Valley in 2023.
Virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR) experts were asked to provide innovative training and safety solutions in a manufacturing environment.
Frucor Suntory was looking to introduce immersive technologies to improve the effectiveness and retention of site-specific safety and induction information for staff.
The pitch winner — tech startup Nexefy — was one of four companies who pitched.
Nexefy earned $80,000 and the opportunity to collaborate with Frucor Suntory in shaping the future of their new Queensland facility at Swanbank, near Ipswich.
Frucor Suntory provided $40,000 with the rest matched by Advance Queensland.
Nexefy’s immersive training experiences
Nexefy is known for creating immersive training experiences, using extended reality to create transformational learning programs. The team is working closely with Frucor Suntory to further develop virtual training and safety programs.
So far, pitch challenges backed by Advance Queensland have a great track record for connecting the Queensland know-how of home-grown start-ups like Nexefy with Australian and international investors.
