#AQAlumni Indigenous businesses shine bright at prestigious awards

Three Indigenous business who have previously been supported or have partnered with Advance Queensland were recognised at the 2022 Buy Queensland Supplier Awards at a ceremony in Brisbane on 5 October 2022.   

The 2022 Buy Queensland Awards recognise businesses that supply to the Queensland Government and are contributing to a stronger and better Queensland.  

There are four categories and Advance Queensland alumni produced wins across the board:  

Putting Queenslanders First Award  

Diversity through Supply Chains Award  

Minister’s Buy Queensland Award  

  • Winner: Physiotherapy Innovations  

  • Highly commended: Marrawah Law  

It’s exciting to see Queensland Indigenous businesses succeeding and being recognised for their achievements.  

Their wins come at the perfect time as October is Indigenous Business Month. This year’s theme is ‘actions today, impact tomorrow’, which aims to inspire the next generation of First Nations business leaders.   

From creating their award-winning businesses, growing and continually succeeding, these Indigenous business owners are not doubt paving the way for future Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs, innovators and business owners.    

As well as the three are Indigenous-owned and operated businesses, Advance Queensland recipient and tenant at The Precinct, FloodMapp, were winners of the Delivering for Queensland Award.
