AI Hub

Assisting the development of local AI talent and attracting world-leaders in AI to Queensland.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub is a new initiative under the Queensland Government’s landmark $650 million Advance Queensland initiative and is a key part of the Queensland Government’s ‘Advance Queensland – Foundations for the Future’ election commitment.

A total investment of $3 million has been allocated to the AI Hub, which will help to establish the Hub and programs including bringing world-leaders in AI to Queensland as experts-in-residence.

The AI Hub will be located at the Queensland Government’s innovation and investment hub known as The Precinct in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

The AI Hub will focus on the following four key initiatives:

  • build on our existing AI community
  • develop our local AI talent by profiling talented students to employing organisations
  • provide a launch pad for AI-based startups by connecting them with end-user industries
  • assist local industry, corporates and government organisations to better understand and engage with AI technologies.

Advance Queensland will be inviting proposals from organisations or consortia interested in managing the new AI Hub in November 2018.
