AI Hub

Assisting the development of local artificial intelligence (AI) talent and attracting world-leaders in AI to Queensland.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub is a new initiative under the Queensland Government’s landmark $755 million Advance Queensland initiative.

A total investment of $3 million has been allocated to the AI Hub, which will help to establish the Hub and programs including bringing world-leaders in AI to Queensland as experts-in-residence.

The AI Hub will be located at the Queensland Government’s innovation and investment hub known as The Precinct in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

The AI Hub will focus on the following four key initiatives:

  • build on our existing AI community
  • develop our local AI talent by profiling talented students to employing organisations
  • provide a launch pad for AI-based startups by connecting them with end-user industries
  • assist local industry, corporates and government organisations to better understand and engage with AI technologies.

Advance Queensland accepted proposals from organisations or consortia interested in managing the new AI Hub until 18 February 2019 and is in the process of assessing these.
