Winner of the innovation challenge to help Queensland’s tourism industry

Work Window, a Virtual Reality Career Experience company, has teamed up with Advance Queensland and Queensland Tourism Development to attract students to careers in tourism and hospitality.

A pitch event was held where businesses were asked to find innovative solutions that equip the department’s Young Tourism Leaders with technology, product, equipment, or a solution to enhance student engagement during career expos and in classrooms at schools.

Work Window is an expert in developing Virtual Reality experiences showcasing diverse careers so that students can make more informed career decisions.

Work Window will develop five new VR experiences covering diverse careers in the tourism and hospitality industries. The experience is immersive, interactive, and personalised, giving students opportunities to explore a wide range of jobs and ask questions.

The VR experiences will be used by our Young Tourism Leaders to engage with students at career expos and in classrooms about jobs in the tourism industry.

Funded by Advance Queensland and Queensland Tourism Development, the Private Sector Pathways program provides Queensland innovative SMEs and Scaleups the opportunity to develop solutions, test and solve the challenge.

The successful applicant will receive up to $50,000 (excluding GST) funding from Advance Queensland, which will be matched by the Tourism Division.
