Ignite Ideas spark interest with Queensland innovators

Advance Queensland is backing the next generation of the state’s founders and innovative companies with its super round of Ignite Ideas. 

Since 2016, Ignite Ideas funding has supported more than 400 Queensland businesses with more than $49 million and delivering more than 6,000 jobs to the economy. 

The new Ignite Spark program will support innovators to progress prototype products and services toward market readiness, while the Ignite Ideas Fund supports companies to take a viable product to market with grants of up to $200,000. 

Announced today (1 August 2023), 13 of Queensland’s most exciting innovation companies have received more than $1.42 million in the latest round of Ignite Ideas funding. 

Ignite Ideas reaches across the Queensland economy, supporting innovation in tourism, agriculture, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, technology, engineering and construction industries. 

The latest round of recipients is developing game-changing products and services including: 

  • an Artificial Intelligence fundraising and marketing assistant that saves time and increases productivity for fundraising and marketing teams at not-for-profits and small-to-medium businesses 
  • a digital toolkit to halve emissions across the animal health sector 
  • a zero-emission haulage solution for the construction industry, with a focus on hauling bulk products like sand and aggregates. 

Ignite Ideas recipients also receive business development support through the Ignite+ program, which focuses on improving skills across sales and marketing, customer acquisition and competitor analysis. 

It also includes intellectual property (IP)/legal support, financial structure; creating connections to key mentors and sponsors and providing access and introductions to business and investment networks.
