Over 150 agtech startup founders, innovators, investors, agribusinesses and primary producers attended the GroundUp Agtech Showcase Day at the Advance Queensland-supported Agtech and Logistics Hub in Toowoomba on 16 February 2023.
The showcase day was the culmination of a three-month Agtech and Logistics Hub and Grains Research and Development Corporation accelerator program designed to drive innovation in the grains sector.
The event included pitch presentations and provided a unique opportunity for over 20 innovators who have been working with the Hub to showcase their innovations, including drones, artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, precision agriculture, and a product traceability platform.
According to a study by the Food and Agribusiness Growth Centre, Queensland's agriculture sector has the potential to quadruple its size by 2030 – $43 billion and the creation of an additional 42,800 jobs – if we position ourselves as a smart agricultural innovator.
