Collaborative learning made easy thanks to WorkPlan

Meet Kathleen Bosworth who is the Founder, Director and Principal Consultant at WorkPlan.

WorkPlan is a software development company that has developed a collaborative learning management system where everyone within an organisation creates learning and knowledge objects that align to business goals and team objectives.

This means that, thanks to WorkPlan, everyone within a company can create and share knowledge across teams and with clients to exchange best practice, build skills, ask questions and provide feedback quickly.

We recently chatted to Kathleen about WorkPlan and her journey as a Queensland female founder.

What inspired you to start your business?

I have always been fascinated by learning technology. After 25 years working with learning management systems, I realised there was a need for an employee driven learning platform. I also realised that there was a need for learning and knowledge to be geared toward the goals of an organisation and team objectives, rather than job title compliance requirements.

What milestones have you reached?

We now have more than 100 clients!

What business achievements are you most proud of to date?

I am happy to have bootstrapped the whole new LMS (learning management system) design, development and launch of WorkPlan Learning during the pandemic. I am most proud that we fully develop and support WorkPlan Learning in Australia. I am grateful to work with a great team of developers and support staff who go above and beyond for all our clients.

Have you participated in any Advance Queensland programs, or received any support from Advance Queensland to date?

We are a self-funded business but have accessed some of the online resources through Advance Queensland.

What’s your advice for other female entrepreneurs and businesses starting out on their entrepreneurship journey?

Be fearless and relentless in the pursuit of your dreams.
