Lead by Lisa, Founder and Managing Director, the team combines over 75 years of general insurance expertise to provide business leaders with bespoke risk and insurance advice that supports business growth and stability.

We recently spoke with Lisa about her business and journey as a Queensland female founder.
What inspired you to start your business?
The biggest clincher was work-life balance. I was pregnant with my second child and wanted to work from home. At that time, remote working was not an option, so I decided to explore alternative options. I established Clear Insurance and joined Insurance Advisernet because of their market-leading software. It offered me flexibility and more freedom to represent clients.
What milestones have you reached?
We are implementing our five-year growth strategy, developing new technologies to drive customer service improvements, and leading the move to provide insurance broking services on a fee-for-service basis. With our fee-for-service approach, clients can feel confident about how our fees are calculated and the value we offer.
What business achievements are you most proud of to date?
I'm proud that the business I started in 2010 as a solo female is now a thriving multi-award-winning business with an all-female crew of nine. We're incredibly proud that Clear Insurance won the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) Small Broking Company of the Year in 2022. Equally, that our Clear Leader, Jen Bettridge, was named Australian Broker of the Year 2022 at the Insurance Business Awards. In 2019, I was the first female to win the QBE National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) Stephen Ball Memorial Award. We're proud to be a Platinum Practice status within one of Australia's leading brokerage networks – Insurance Advisernet.
