Women’s Academic Fund supported over 150 researchers

Since August 2015, more than $1.53 million has been invested through the Women’s Academic Fund to support the retention, development and progression of over 150 female researchers.

The fund provided up to $25,000 for a female researcher going on maternity leave to employ another researcher or a research assistant to continue the work so that important research momentum was not lost.

Up to $1000 was available to support any out-of-pocket child care costs if a female researcher had to take time away to present at a national or international conference or was involved in a professional research committee.

The Women’s Academic Fund is now in its evaluation phase.
