HackCQ: Central Highlands First Hackathon

CHDC and River City Labs have joined forces to hold Emerald’s first hackathon. HackCQ was created to support entrepreneurship and the establishment of new, high-growth businesses by allowing participants to rapidly and safely pitch business ideas, brainstorm and develop business plans that launch real, working start-ups.

With a particular focus on young people, participants will be supported by a network of high quality, well-experienced mentors, investors and business founders who are ready to help get their concepts off the ground and running.

Steve Baxter, Qld’s Chief Entrepreneur and Australian Shark Tank Judge, has shown his overwhelming support for this event – which you can see on the CHDC Facebook page. More information can be found on the HackCQ Facebook page.

This is an excellent opportunity for year 11 and 12 high school students, young people and aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a knowledgeable, experienced and supportive group of mentors!

The event is being held from 5pm Friday 21 September to Sunday 23 September at the McIndoe Function Centre. Ticket prices are $20 for students, $20 for Accompanying Adults and $40 for professionals. Please note that all students under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian/Teacher.

Registrations close 5pm Friday 14 September.

You can register now on the CHDC registration page.
