GovHack is back in 2018 and, as usual, it’s all is about encouraging and celebrating our technical and creative capacity with government for great outcomes, and building upon the social and economic value of Open Data published by government.
During GovHack teams have 46 hours to create a project page, proof of concept and a video that tells the story of how open data can be reused, finding new ways to solve existing challenges facing the community and government.
Data uses might include innovative apps and products, or mashing up data through visualisations, games, art work or data stories.
GovHack is a nationwide collaboration with Queensland events being held in the following locations: Brisbane, Cairns, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Peregian Beach, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Townsville.
This year the GovHack weekend starts at 6pm Friday 7 September 2018 and competition closes at 5pm Sunday 9 September 2018.
