Queensland-Cooper Hewitt Fellowships

Applications now open

Supports a registered Queensland school teacher to visit the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York to gain experience in classroom, community and online strategies for delivering quality design education.

What's important

  • Up to $20,000 (excluding GST) to visit for 8 to 12 weeks.
  • Applications are open and close 1pm (AEST) Monday 18 December 2017.
  • The successful recipient will be awarded in February 2018.


The Fellow must be:

  • an Australian citizen or have Australian residency
  • residing and working in Queensland
  • a currently registered, practicing school teacher in Queensland (Prep-Year 12).

Funding recipients

Recipients in 2015, 2016, and 2017 have been supported to visit the Cooper Hewitt Education Department in New York to learn more about the use of design in education.
