From Country to You: Natural Wellness x Native Wisdom
Helen Rose Pty Ltd (Helen Rose) is a Queensland-based natural wellness and skincare company that’s bottling traditional bush medicine into modern accessible products. Founded by a proud First Nations woman, Helen Rose is built on the philosophy of “From Country to You: Natural Wellness × Native Wisdom.” The company combines ancient Indigenous plant knowledge with modern innovation to create sustainable, ethical products that nurture both body and spirit.
The company’s range includes holistic creams, balms, and supplements made from native Australian botanicals like Gumby Gumby, Kakadu Plum, Lemon Myrtle, and Davidson Plum.
Each product tells a story about Country, culture, and care, inviting people around the world to experience the richness of traditional bush medicine and understand its significance in healing and sustainability.
From side hustle to global expansion
Helen Rose began as a side hustle just two years ago, inspired by the founder’s cultural roots, community, and personal healing journey. By early 2025, it had grown into a thriving business with a clear mission: to create products that blend the power of native Australian botanicals with modern wellness practices.
Helen Rose’s commitment to authenticity and innovation has captured the attention of the global community. In 2025, the founder was invited to speak at the Indonesian International Sustainability Forum in Jakarta, representing both Helen Rose and First Nations women in global sustainability discussions.
Austrade has also recognised Helen Rose’s success, with the brand invited to showcase its products within the Australia Pavilion at BeautyWorld Dubai 2025, one of the world’s leading beauty and wellness exhibitions, and as part of the Austrade tradeshow within the Australian embassy in Tokyo. The founder, Helen Rose, was also selected to be a panellist for Queensland Businesses at the World Expo in Osaka.
“These moments reaffirm that our culture and products belong on the world stage, celebrated for their authenticity, integrity, and innovation”, the founder says.
The future is bright for Helen Rose. The company is focused on global expansion with plans to launch new product lines, including native collagen skincare and therapeutic wellness blends, into the Middle East and Asia.
Through research partnerships, Helen Rose is also collaborating with scientists and universities to explore the medicinal properties of native botanicals like Gumby Gumby, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to ensuring cultural knowledge remains protected and community benefit remains central through every step.
Empowering First Nations Communities
Helen Rose is not only paving the way for First Nations representation in the beauty and wellness industry, but it is also building greater representation for Indigenous-owned businesses on the global stage. The founder’s vision has always been to bridge traditional knowledge with innovation, to honour Country while redefining wellness through culture.
“I want to see more Indigenous-owned businesses thriving on the global stage — inspiring economic independence, pride, and opportunity within our communities.”, the founder says.
Backing Female Founders Program
Helen Rose’s journey has been supported by the Queensland Government’s Backing Female Founders Program, which is a suite of initiatives to support female founders to grow and scale innovative businesses. One of these initiatives is a partnership with Murawin Pty Ltd and Coralus to provide business support to a cohort of First Nations female entrepreneurs. As part of the Coralus Cohort, the founder has gained access to mentorship, collective wisdom, and a community of women.
“It’s been a safe space to learn, grow, and refine my business strategy while staying grounded in cultural values”, the founder says. “The support has helped me become a more confident founder — one who leads with purpose, collaboration, and care. The connections I’ve made have also opened opportunities that align deeply with my mission to bring First Nations wellness to the world.”
Helen Rose Pty Ltd is a testament to the power of combining cultural heritage with innovation. By supporting First Nations entrepreneurs, Queensland is fostering a more inclusive economy, creating jobs, and sharing the state’s unique cultural and natural assets with the world. This is a story of resilience, creativity, and the incredible potential of Queensland’s innovation community.
