Female Founders' Program

Supporting Queensland’s female founders to start and grow their business and remain connected to their industries.

What's important

  • The 2017 StartupAUS Crossroads report found that only 4% of startups have an all-female founding team and as few as 15% have at least one female founder.
  • We are seeking feedback to shape the program design to ensure Queensland maximises the number of inspirational women involved in our startup community.

This is your opportunity to provide feedback about the challenges female founders face and how this program could best assist to overcome these barriers.

You may want to consider these questions in your feedback:

  1. What are the barriers for female founders?
  2. What supports are required to increase female participation in the startup sector?
  3. Who needs to be part of the consultation?

Please provide your feedback to

On International Women’s Day 2018 key female leaders from Queensland’s startup community were invited to share their experience and solutions with Minister Kate Jones at the launch of the Female Founders' Program consultation process.

Participants at this event included female founders who were recipients of several Advance Queensland supported programs such as Ignite Ideas, HotDesQ and the Catalyst Female Founders’ Mission to London.
